Where Sidewalks Whisper Jazz is a yearlong street performance campaign running from Spring 2025 to Spring 2026, launching in Harvard Square (10 Church St, Cambridge). The busking performance features keyboardist Charlie Zhang and trumpeter Jack Li - both high schoolers from the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School.
Through a shared passion for jazz and community, this initiative seeks to raise funds to support students participating in the Berklee Valencia Contemporary Arts and Music Program in Summer 2026. Over the course of the year, we hope to bring live jazz to public spaces, connect with listeners from all walks of life, and help aspiring young musicians pursue their creative journeys.
The BV Camp - Youth (Berklee Valencia Contemporary Arts and Music Program) is a one-week summer experience for students ages 11 to 14, hosted at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain. This program is ideal for both beginners and those who have some musical experience, inviting young musicians to delve into ensemble playing, music theory, and contemporary music production in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Instructors from Berklee’s campuses in Boston and Valencia lead the program, allowing students to learn, create, and perform alongside peers from around the globe. Participants also have the opportunity to try new instruments and showcase their skills in a final performance for family and the local community. Additionally, students can experience the vibrant culture of Spain, including unique moments like street performance and engaging with the sounds of 'Where Sidewalks Whisper Jazz.' This program offers a distinctive chance to grow musically while immersing in the rich artistic environment of Valencia.
Your generous contributions will support young students in their musical journey through the Berklee Valencia Contemporary Arts and Music Program, particularly as they engage in street performance and share their talents in events like Where Sidewalks Whisper Jazz on the Berklee Valencia campus in Spain.
